Disastrous trends in Pakistani
fashion shows
Fashion reflects a broader desire within the country to
establish an identity beyond the stereotyped outside's view. It also reflects cultural diversity of a
country so fashion shows have to play vital role in discovering country's
inspirational creativity from its history, religion, streets and everyday life.
Contrary to above discussion Pakistani fashion shows are trying to destroy our cultural, social and religious values through their so called creativity and versatility. They cast characters like meera in their fashion shows drama to get attention. Because according to designers controversy gives extra time and special attention on electronic and print media as well as in social media.

Recently I saw very disgusting and humorous clothes in fashion shows. I would like to share details of those awkward fashion outfits. A male model was wearing a saree like dress.... Oh you think its creativity? Obviously that’s insanity.
In another show models were wearing dresses of females, yes it’s true, they were wearing Girl's sandals, bridal dupattas, bright color flowering long kurtas and hijabs.
another blunder from Pakistani designer went viral on social media and was quoted on social media as" when you have jumma, nikah and job interview on the same day."
Our fashion gurus are also taking inspiration from Indian
culture which is ruining the true essence and purpose of fashion in Pakistan. Bold Bollywood designs and body exposure
is certainly against our country's ideology and Islamic values. You also see
influence of Bollywood music in our shows which is absolutely useless because
our coke studio is enough to beat Bollywood obsession in fashion weeks.
Surprisingly we have become habitual of imitating other's culture
without taking care of its horrible and long lasting impacts and consequences
towards our traditions and upcoming generation. In my opinion Pakistan’s desi, traditional culture is rich
enough that we don’t need to copy westerns and Indians liberalism to compete in
international fashion world.
